Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

You will be greeted by:

Mrs A Wiser – Teacher

Mrs J Holt – HLTA

In Year 4, the children develop their confidence and independence to be role models at school. The children understand the importance of being kind, in order to be ‘Ready, Respectful and Safe’. We love having experiences in our learning both in and out of school, including our Outdoor Learning offer and Spring Term residential trip. This helps the children to develop their knowledge and understanding whilst also having fun! Our supportive, nurturing, and inclusive environment ensures children have the opportunity to grow and learn.

Homework at John Randall is based on supporting our learning in the classroom.

Our most important piece of homework is READING (Reading takes you places!)  Reading is at the heart of everything we do, so we need to use Practice Panda to get better at this skill!  The more you read, the more you succeed!

Adults, please read with your child, 3 times per week (or more if you can!)  3 Parents signatures in the reading diary is worth 15 Dojos!

Time Tables Rockstars! Again, Practice Panda and Memory Magpie this time!  When you know your Times Tables, you can make so many links and Maths simply gets easier!

Finally, weekly spellings.

We do not set a lot of homework, but we do ask that we make these activities an important part of our home/school life!

I am out on the playground every morning for a quick chat or you can also contact me via email:

Times Table Rock Star

Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our launch of Times Tables Rock Star in school.

Practical session feeling sound vibrations through a balloon. We took it in turns to speak next to the balloon while our partner listened. The balloon acted as an amplifier. We learnt that because the air molecules inside the balloon are closer together, they become a better conductor of sound waves than the uncompressed air in the classroom.
