Mrs Z Smith, Mrs J Benton and Mrs S Smith welcome you to Year 3
This term we are learning about World War 1 which we have named 'Fighting for Freedom'. Year 3 chose this topic as we will be taking part in the Somme Commemorative Project in Southwater, Telford as part of the commemoration of the Battle of the Somme. This will commemorate the lives of all the servicemen, from Telford, who lost their lives at the Battle of the Somme. We have been asked to find out about and make a banner, to commemorate the life of Crp Richard Williams Jones, who lived in Wellington. This will be carried in the procession at Southwater, in July.
We have been having lots of fun with Miss Ellis in forest school this term. She has brought lots of wonderful resources for our creative curriculum theme allowing us to build castles, make bow and arrows, musical instruments and of course lovely marshmallows for us to toast on the fire....yummy!
Each week your child will come home with a new homework task for the week. There will be a variety of activities for children to work on, on their own or with the help of a grown up. We do ask that all children try to have a go at their homework as this supports our learning within the classroom. Children that bring their homework in each week will be entered into a raffle at the end of each half term
PE is on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Please can children make sure they have
suitable indoor and outdoor clothing
available all week.
